The things you need to know before making your 2018 resolutions (and my personal goals)

Don't you just love this time of year? I love that 'fresh start' feeling, the manifesting and taking the time to sit and think about what it is we've achieved throughout the previous 12 months and what we want to do with that whole new year in front of us. It's exciting.

But many of us get trapped into making half hearted resolutions like
-lose weight, go to the gym more, quit smoking, save more money

But we actually don't put any reasons WHY we are doing it or any strategy.

By January 15th we've failed miserably and feel bad about ourselves and just carry on with our old habits because we tried and it didn't work.

I have been listening to a loooot of Tony Robbins recently and the best thing I have taken away from him on this particular subject is:

You need to be pulled by your goals, not pushed.

If you are pulled by your goals, you won't fail, because you're striving for an end result and you have a reason to do it.

There's only so much push you can take. If you're being pushed, by a half hearted goal to save more money, you'll end up getting annoyed, it'll be painful and you'll give up the second you see a sale on the dress you wanted or any other shiny object.

So when you're writing out your goals this year, instead of writing 'put more money in savings'
write WHY. What are you saving for? How much do you need?
If it's for a holiday, find out the exact price of flights of accommodation and write that. If it's for a house deposit, write the exact amount you need, start looking at houses and making actions on getting closer to ideal home.

Tony Robbins explains it waaay better than I have, so check out this video if you get a minute.

The second thing is RITUALS!

Successful people don't usually become successful overnight, and if you look deeper into some of the most successful people in our world, they all seem to have a bunch of amazing daily rituals.

This article '7 habits of highly successful people from a man who spent 5 years studying them'

So maybe instead of (or as well as) making giant goals for 12 months time, try writing a list of little things you can do every day to get closer to what you want or where you want to be. Make up new rituals that you can do every day.

It could be something like drink a glass of water when you wake up, swap your morning coffee for a green juice. Do 20 squats when you get out of bed, make your bed every day....

So here goes:

DAILY RITUALS (in no order)

Drink a minimum 2 litres of water per day
Have a peanut butter breakfast smoothie
As well as spinach and apple smoothie (at some point during the day)
Meditate for a minimum of 15 minutes per day
Write 10 things in gratitude journal
30 minutes of exercise
Read the kids a bedtime story every night

Triple my 2017 income
Go to LA, New York and London
Rent a beachfront apartment and paint for a few days
Sell a painting for $1000
Have a solo exhibition
Finish and publish my 3rd book

Sending every single one of you so much gratitude for continuing to read my blog and support me on my health and business journey. Wishing you a wonderful 2018, Love Hayley X
